Scope Images of Digitrax Transponding
Here are a few scope images of Digitrax transponding in action.
Images here are intended to enlight what happens when an
transponding enabled loco decoder (in this case DN142) has
transponding enabled (CV61=0x02).
Scope setup is as follows:
- I have a toroidial ferrite core. Primary is 1.5 rounds and it
is one of the wires going to the rails.
- Secondary is about 20 rounds connected to a 1k resistor.
- Yellow scope line is the voltage over the 1k resistor.
- Blue scope line is rail voltage.
- I didn't make any analysis how the current spikes relate to DCC
commands going to the transponding decoder like are the spikes in
the next DCC preamble etc.
